ABOUT MY ORGANIC GARDEN

Several years ago I became dissatisfied with the organic movement in this country.  With the advent of large corporations getting into the picture - each year more and more highly toxic pesticides were lobbied for - and granted.

I began to also wonder whom was overshadowing organic enterprises that shipped from out of the United States to your local market.  And how fresh and nutritious could these be?

I wanted to know exactly what was going in my body so I decided to start this farm.

Additionally, I am a spiritual vegan.  I eat milk, cheese and eggs but only what I produce here myself.  The animals and poultry do not put anything into their mouths (or beaks) that I am not eating myself.  Their homes are happy environments.  In fact, as I sit here writing this, one of my milk does, Lily, is staring in the window at me.  Its that time of day and she knows it - I slide the window open and feed her organic animal crackers.  She won't admit it but she prefers the lions.

But back to veganistics.  One day as I was eating a organic tomato from the store (it was winter and the greenhouse hadn't been started yet) I said to myself, you know, this tomato has a underlying taste of fish.

I began to research organic growing procedures and discovered that blood meal, bone meal and fish fertilizers are pretty much a stable of this industry for fertilizing. Oh yuck - so in effect it was like I was just eating psuedo-meat.  I have nothing against the flesh eaters of the world but it isn't something I want for myself.

This is a simplified version of course, I could go on for pages and pages but am trying to restrain myself.  But I just want to let you know that what you get from me is the very best available.  And I guarantee your tomatoes will never taste like fish
